Just wrapped up 2026 Appliance & Electronics World EXPO (AWE) in Shanghai. If CES is where the world dreams about the future, AWE is where that future lands in your living room.

Humanoid Robots in 2026 Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) Shanghai.

Here's how AI is finally moving from concept to reality.

1. Physical AI: from chatbots to helpers

• MagicLab & Zeroth: humanoid robots as companions, elderly care, pet monitoring.
• Dreame: AI rings (ECG), lawn mowing robots (98% obstacle recognition), wheelchair robot with robotic arm, redefining elderly care.
• Haier "Seeker" appliance: AI Eye 2.0 + UHomeOS + Haiwa robots. It acts as a food sentinel, inventorying your stock via app, suggesting recipes based on what you take out, and even letting you ask 'where's the milk?’ It understands both your kitchen and your family's needs.
• ROBAM "Shi Shen食神" : 1,100+ ingredient recognition, AI cooking glasses with AR guidance.
• MOVA Pilot 70: flying robot that cleans multi-level homes.
• Roborock G-Rover & Dreame Cyber X: robots that climb stairs.

2. System-level thinking. Chinese brands build ecosystems, not siloed devices.

• Huawei HarmonyOS: connects 3200+ brands. "Turn on the light near the sofa" -AI understands space.
• Hisense: fridge as "Food AI Agent"- manages health, suggests diets, integrates shopping.
• Dreame's "Universe" : wearables → smartphones → appliances → flying vehicles → space chips. This isn't just product expansion. It's platform leverage: motors, AI, robotics, silicon—reused across categories.

3. The products are already here. CES demonstrates concepts for 2030. AWE shows price tags.

• Qianwen AI Glasses: RMB1997, 350ms response, 89-language translation, Alibaba-integrated. I tried them - smooth!
• Huawei AI TV: RMB8500+, family hub with Xiaoyi 6.0. The TV is now the brain of the home.
• MOVA eVTOL flying car: 2026 pre-sale, RMB2.8million, extreme? Yes, but built on same motor/AI stack as their cleaning robots. Fueled by national "low-altitude economy" push.

4. Business Model: the show floor is the sales floor.

Almost every booth live-streams, not for branding, for selling now. CEOs host. Haier's chairman launched products live. Even the established global brand Panasonic had dedicated live-stream rooms.

Western shows: brand building → sales later.
AWE: brand + engagement + transaction. Simultaneously.

It's loud, it's messy, and it works. Speed beats polish - and China has mastered turning every touchpoint into revenue.

5. What's Next? Home robotics is entering the affordability zone. The battlefield is your living room.

• Freeing hands: robots that climb, tidy, clean.

• Companionship: elderly monitoring, child engagement.

From single-function tools to intelligent companions. From isolated devices to whole-home ecosystems. From local experiments to global exports.

And the best part? It's already happening, and it's already affordable.
